It’s been years and honestly, I still don’t really believe I saw what I did. It sounds way too crazy saying it out loud, but at the same time, it feels really good. So, this was way back in the day, back when the mall was still open, right before it shut down. I was back home from school and I really needed a job for the summer. After getting turned down by every fast food joint and retail store in town, I finally tried out the movie theater inside the mall. It was one of those big chain theaters, didn’t care as much about the movies as they did getting asses in seats. I hated places like that, and somehow the fact that it was shoved into the corner of a shopping mall just made it worse, but they were also understaffed and the only place in town that even called me back, so I guess they had to do.

I feel like that place had to be haunted even before it got shut down. There was hardly anyone ever in the damn theater, let alone the rest of the mall. We got all the big movies of the summer, but the only people who ever showed up were lame middle schoolers who couldn’t drive and lived nearby. Everybody else just went to the bigger, nicer theaters or malls in the neighboring towns. I guess the nice part was I never had to worry about parking.
